Business Leaders of Color (BLC) dispels the myth there are few qualified, dynamic, visionary, and talented executives of color ready to step into corporate directorships in Chicago and beyond. The BLC honor and publication was conceived from findings from The Corporate Diversity Profile Survey and the need to identify diverse talent for the Fortune 100, 500, and 1000. The BLC honor and publication serves to highlight and demonstrate the level of diverse talent available in Chicago.
Biennially, since its inception in 2003, the BLC honor and publication has identified 470 board-ready candidates. Chicago United is proud to showcase Business Leaders of Color honorees as candidates who are ready and able to add significant value to Fortune 1000 enterprises.

In 2021, 50 inspiring individuals joined a network of the most influential, diverse, and inclusive leaders in the Chicago business community. These leaders are outstanding examples of what it means to overcome obstacles and biases to navigate the corporate landscape and ascend to leadership with boldness and confidence.
